The Columbia Undergraduate Journal of History is a publication of the Undergraduate History Council at Columbia University. We review student submissions from history departments across the United States and internationally, and then select the most exemplary among them to be published in the Journal.


The UHC will be revitalizing the Columbia Undergraduate Journal of History in Spring 2016. Please submit papers by December 31st, 2015, adhering to the following guidelines:

Submissions should be sent as an email attachment in .doc or .docx format to Papers should be in twelve point standard font with one inch margins and are typically between 15-30 double spaced pages (although all lengths will be considered). Citations should appear as footnotes in the Chicago style. Authors should make sure that their name, institutional affiliation, and other contact information only appears in the email and should not appear anywhere in the text or file name of the article.
